How to Activate LabSSH Offline¶
This guide will walk you through how to activate LabSSH using the offline mode.
For offline activation, at least one of the following scenarios should apply:
- Your computer does not have direct internet access.
- Your computer is behind a restrictive firewall, and cannot reach the Labwerx licensing server.
If the above scenarios do not apply to your computer, please see see How to Activate LabSSH Online. Online activation is easier and faster, and is the recommended method.
1. Launch the Activation Wizard in “Offline” Mode¶
Launch the activation wizard from the Windows Start Menu:
Start --> All Programs --> Labwerx --> labSSH --> labSSH_Activate
Once the wizard is running, you’ll see the welcome screen:
Check the box labeled This computer is offline, then click the Next button to continue.
2. Enter Your License Key, Specify Computer Nickname¶
Enter the license key that was emailed to you.
By default, your computer’s name will be populated for you in the PC Nickname text field. This nickname is only for your reference later on, so name it something meaningful to you.
Note
The nickname field is for your reference. By using a meaningful nickname, you’ll be able to know which computers you have activated, and which license keys have been assigned to a computer.
Once you’ve entered the license key, and optionally changed the computer nickname, click the Next button to proceed.
3. Save the Generated Activation Request¶
The wizard will now have generated an offline activation request.
The contents of this request must be uploaded manually to the Labwerx activation server.
To do this, you may:
Click the Save to file… button to launch the file save dialog
or
- Click the Copy to clipboard button to copy the contents to the clipboard and save it
manually elsewhere.
4. Upload the Generated Activation Request to Labwerx License Server¶
The generated offline activation request must be uploaded to the Labwerx license server at https://labwerx.net/lm/remote-activate/.
Copy-and-paste the contents of the generated activation request into the text field.
Click the Activate button to perform the activation.
5. Copy or Save the Activation Response from the Labwerx License Server¶
If the activation request was valid, you’ll see an activation response.
Select all text, then either:
Save the response to a text file
or
Copy the response to the clipboard if your target computer’s clipboard is accessible (e.g. from a Remote Desktop session).
6. Enter the Activation Response Into the Activation Wizard¶
Either paste or load the response file into the activation wizard, depending on how you chose to store the activation response in step 5.
Once the response has been entered, click the Next button to complete activation.
This will verify the response and activate the software.
7. Activation Completed¶
If no problems occurred, the success screen will be displayed.
LabSSH has been activated and is now ready to use.
